RV Solar Panel

Share

I’ve just started a new project and I wanted to make a note here to announce what I’m doing.

I’ve decided to take on the project of building my own solar panel with the thought of integrating it into our travel trailer’s battery power system.

Through my research I’ve come across programs that teach you to build your own solar panel at a very low cost. So this new web site will chronicle my effort to use this program to build the solar panel and use it with our RV.

The RVers Solar Primer
Learn how to use solar energy to generate electricity for your RV. Solar power experts Greg and Deb Holder explain the basics of solar power and solar battery charging systems.

Ron’s right- you’re likely to have saved a great deal of money by building the panels yourself. It’s fantastic that you’re prepared to put in the time and effort to lead a more sustainable life and many would do well to follow your example. Unfortunately most people do not possess the expertise or facilities to do as you have done which makes it a great shame that solar panels are so expensive to buy. If we are to be truly encouraged to be more environmentally friendly, this sort of technology needs to become more accessible and reasonably priced.

    it really seems great!
but we found another way to install solar panels on RV roof, no needing to driving hole, and also have a space for air through.

This looks really cool! My next project is to go solar. These brackets look like a great solution.
